the First Deadly Sin

(I'm not really this cynical, i quite adore the pleasure of lust and passion, it's just always a bitch when it turns sour.

FIRST EVER BLOODSHOOT! And also first ever successful self portraits. And yes, i know it's overdone and horribly cliche and i don't care. i am super proud.

the first was easy enough (even though a nail broke and hung on by a thread, which if you look closely enough you may spot) I used a table instead of a tripod and i totally underexposed. My camera and i are still getting acquainted (sorry for the grain)

The second - WOW what trouble. Started by wanting a studio set up, so faffed with lighting for 2 WHOLE DAYS and test shooting. i wanted it super bright white, with no shadow and everything but the blood burnt out. by the third day i was getting stressed and despondant and my blood was getting thick and dry so i said fuck it and jumped in front of my window and used the wonder of natural light. And does that natural light ever fail me?! You're damn right it doesn't. The blue hue is natural as it was on custom WB.

EDit - not really. Curves and contrast a tad, and had to lighten up the first.

* Blood is cornflour, water, sugar, red and blue dye, and saliva. Took friggin AGES to get right but i am so infatuated with the stuff now. AND it can be reused. when it starts getting lumpy and stuck, add just a tiny drop of water and stir hard with a fork. Mine lasted for like a week! and it was Sooo tasty mixed with the apple juice. And it doesn't stain too badly at all! (it ended up all over me xD)
